My name is Sarika. I am a stay-at-home mom of two and former librarian and archivist. I enjoy reading, writing, and making things. My grandma taught me to knit when I was ten years old, but I could only knit scarves and wasn’t very good at it. In 2016, I taught myself to crochet and, in the summer of 2024, I decided to learn how to make arigurumi. Missing the few times I helped my dad sell toys at markets, I signed up for my first vendor event at the library in November 2024. The name Woodland Flock is a tribute to where I live. I draw inspiration from the nature that surrounds my home, from the massive oak trees that drop acorns all over my yard to the mushrooms that grow in the compost to the blueberry bushes to the frogs that sing in the woods to the chickens in their coop. First and foremost, I make things that delight me and my children—and I hope they will delight you too. |
